Is DOTDR free to use
Who is DotDr good for
DotDr is for medical professionals, medical students, interns, registrars, clinicians, HoDs, administrators and anyone else needing a comprehensive platform to log, monitor, manage, track and sign-off on medical and learning activities. It is ideal for medical proffessionals wanting a quick and easy way to record patient notes and referrals and for learning institutions looking to streamline logbook activities and improve learning outcomes. This all-in-one automation software enables access for entire systems and specialties, at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. Use VOICE for attendance and activity tracking, comprehensive WBA tools, approval workflows, insightful data analysis, weekly dashboards, and more, with an industry-leading solution to avoid using multiple platforms.
How does it work
Medical proffessionals: Create a patient referral in seconds by recording a quick voicenote, which will automatically be sent to the reference doctor. Record real-time patient notes and our AI-generated transcription service will systematically capture the details of the patient story.
Students: Use the VOICE app to create your Rotation logbook activity if you are a student, or your student feedback or assessment if you are an educator. DotDr will transcribe your voicenote and create your digital logbook. If you are on a paid plan, DotDr AI will replicate your logbook by placing the transcription details in the correct fields required by your logbook.
How do I get started?
3 easy steps to getting started with DotDr:
1. Register
DotDr needs some of your information to identify you and to kickstart your digital records journey.
2. Create your digital record
When you first start using DotDr, simply provide your email and let DotDr remember you. Then, choose the purpose and provide the specifics of your digital record and hit the Submit button!
3. Use the menu to find what you're looking for
The menu provides more options such as your submission history (edit, download records), WBA and more.
What should I say in my recording
This depends on who you are and the purpose of your voicenote. DotDr provides guidance. The general rule of thumb is: SPEAK CLEARLY! Keep submissions short - only say what is required or what you would write in the logbook.
Students: state the activity type from the list, patient details if applicable, and learning outcome.
Activity Type:
Academic Meeting | Observe |
Assist | OPD |
Attendance | PBL |
Bedside tutorial | Presentation |
Call | Seminar |
Case report | Session |
Clarking and Presenting | Talk to |
Clerking Patient | Theatre |
Clinical presentation | Tutorial |
Intake | Ward |
Micro bench in lab | Ward round |
Educators: Be sure to mention the name or student number of the student when recording your feedback.
Medical Professionals: Clearly state your name if it is for a referral. Then the referral details. For patient notes, mention everything you would normally capture in writing.
What if I want to log my attendance/check-in only?
Simple! Enter your email and pick the rotation. Then hit "Check-in". There is no need to record a voicenote.
You will still be able to add and record your activity details later, by finding your Attendance record in Results (found in the Menu).
What if I would prefer to write
If you are unable to record a voicenote and/or would prefer to capture your activity manually but want the digital history, simply select Check-in (without recording a voicenote). After you submit, select Results from the menu, find your activity and add the details you would like to capture. Write your activity description in "Transcript". Be sure to tick each change to save.
What are the benefits of the paid plan?
The free DotDr app offers a default generic setup. If you require custom medical records, for example specific columns and reports for regulatory approval, you will need to upgrade.
How do I upgrade to the paid plan
If you want to access the full benefits of DotDr AI including editable transcriptions, activity history, digital logbook replication, dashboards and analytics insights, you will need to upgrade your DotDr
Students, if your learning institution is already on the enterprise plan, no upgrades are necessary.
